How should I reward people that have helped me during a recent incapacity?
Since I have never been in this situation before, I wanted some advice on how to repay people that are helping in my recovery from a broken bone. I have two aunts that between then have taken me to doctor’s appointments, picked up my mail and did some some shopping for me. A person I work with has agreed to water my plants at work while I’m out. It seems crass to offer them money, which they probably wouldn’t take anyway. I thought about sending flowers, but I don’t know if they are allergic and cut flowers seems like a waste of money to me. And with everyone watching their weight (I think at least one of my aunts is diabetic), candy is not an option. Would a gift certificate to a local supermarket be okay? That way they can get what they want and need. Now the question is as to the amount I should recompense. Any further suggestions?
Also people at work sent me a basket of living plants and a fruit basket. Do they have to be acknowledged? How so?
How about taking your recovery helpers out to lunch, or have them over for dinner and explain to them that you greatly appreicated their help during your recovery. Nothing says thank you better than a free meal.
You have some wonderful family/friends/co-workers. As for the people at work how about bringing a couple of desserts along with a thank you note.

I am worried about my oxygen levels when I’m sleeping and at high altitude?
I smoked pot for 5 years and tobacco foy 7 years and during that time period I also quit for smoking for 5 years before resuming the final 2. I am currently smoke free im 26 years old and havent smoked since i was 25. I have had doctors hear me breath and done a spirometry test. It ended up being 112 fev that was quite fine. Im worried that i may have emphasema or co2 retention when i sleep i wake up about 4 hours later with a fast heart rate and am dizzy. I also dont do as well at high alltitude my heart rate increases. I went to a lung specialist all he did was listen to my lungs an do anther lung functuion test he told me i was a hypochndtiac and go home! I waited 2 months for that appoitment that pissed me off I never used to have this problem Im afraid the last 2 years of tobacco smoking caused my oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange to be poor. My oxygen levels at rest are 98 to 100
with pulse oximeter but it goes down when your sleeping and at high alltitude please any experts?
ya smoking is bad

Someone thinks they could be diabetic & my mom thinks the problem can be solved by feeding them a bagel…?
…five minutes after they’ve eaten a large meal. Every time the person mentions it, she offers them cookies, or something carby or whatever as if that would just make everything go away. How sick can you get?
What in the???
Someone tell me WHY. I keep trying to explain things to her, but she won’t LISTEN. She thinks she knows it all!
All mothers think they know it all. Sounds like yours is a particularly extreme example of this.
It’s pointless getting mom to change. Trust me, I’ve been trying with mine for years. Best thing you can do is get the person who thinks they could be diabetic to ignore your mom. If you can stop them from accepting the high-carb poison from your mom, you would be really doing them a favour!
On 23 february,1994,I was born which gave cheer to many of my relatives and family friends. All were happy and eager to meet me.the whole family was blossoming with happiness and joy.But things changed.after just a few days,my mom fell seriously ill. That was bad news.her body swelled so much, that the doctors couldn’t even feel her pulse. On measuring the heart beats and blood pressure, they were steadily decreasing. She had also lost a lot of blood. The family was in tears. After 2 months of severe illness and pain,my mom started recovering.Slowly, after many medical treatments, her conditions drew towards normal. Now she lives a second life, just due to good luck, her own determination to get better, and many well wishes.Aint I lucky to have a mother after all these incidents?
its kind of similar to my mom’ case when i was born doctor made a mistake which resulted in her internal bleeding she was operated but doctors told my dad thaat mom was on death bed… but she survived and in such cases it is considered that child brings the mother back.. its affection.. some believe some dont…

i’m 29 wks & i was told yesterday that i have gestational diabetes. the dietician hasn’t called me yet for an appt but last night & for lunch today i had a salad. this am i ate some watermelon & canteloupe. i’ve only drank water & i feel like i’m starving, i have no energy, & my head is throbbing. the dietician is going to set me up with a blood sugar tester but i’m worried that my sugar will drop before then without me knowing it. i’m normally hypoglycemic & have always had to eat to keep my blood sugar up. is the way i’m feeling normal (headaches). am i having withdrawels from sugar, carbs etc? i’ve called my dr but i keep getting the machine. i’m going to keep trying but i was wondering if anyone else went through this.
thanks
eat as you normally would. if your doctor has told you to cut anything out then do so however if the dietician hasnt called you yet i get the feeling youre not going to keel over shortly if you continue to eat normally. even diabetics are able to consume certain types of sugar, and if it’s just gestational then it’s linked to your hypoglycemia…dont pound back the chocolate bars of course but do eat normally. you can have natural sugars…eat carbs until you’re told otherwise…and most of all DONT STRESS! you would have been rushed to the dietician if it was really dangerous for you.
SO EAT! you need it! lol
good luck! and chill! i know it’s scary/stressfull but theres nothing you can do until you talk to the nutritionist anyway! ~
