How old do you have to be to create an online store & sell things online?
I’m 14 & want to create an online store on freewebs.com to sell rubber bracelets I designed from another site. I also want to donate some of the money to a Diabetes charity. I want to know if this is legal. If not, what can I do?
you can’t get a Paypal acct or even your own bank acct until you are 18 and any e-commerce website is going to have a monthly cost just to host the website – at least $50 a yr + the cost of the domain name

I am a type 1 diabetic. I am on an insulin pump now due to the fact my pancreas is completely shot. I have started to experience neuropathy in my feet. I have seen a few doctors and other diabetic people and will be at my endocrinologist soon. I have been told by many many medical professionals that a visit to a neurologist as well as new meds..possibly neurontin or other meds will be in order. I wanted to ask anyone who has diabetic neuropathy…what do you do? how have you made it better? what has made it worse? I know that lowering you sugar level (A1C) over time decreases the risks of it worsening but how do you deal once you have it? Im extremely worried I will become an amputee. Your guidance and knowledge will help me calm my fears. Thank you.
There is an excellent fact sheet on the diabetic neuropathies at
The best way to prevent the neuropathy occurring or getting worse is to keep control of the blood glucose levels. There is no specific treatment which reverses the neuropathy. With the most common form, peripheral neuropathy, you experience numbness in the feet, so it is most important to avoid even the slightest injuries, which may easily get infected.
The neuropathy may be painful, for which drugs like amitriptyline may be helpful. C-peptide is still a research drug and does not appear in either the US or UK formularies, It is produced by the normal pancreas. Ihas been shown in animals to treat and reverse the nerve and blood vessel damage, and there have been trials in humans, but we do not yet have sufficient information on side-effects.

DOES CRAVING SUGAR ALOOT MEAN IM GONNA END UP WITH DIABETES?
So, I’m a 17 year old girl, who LOVES sugar, but i crave it like everyday, and more than once a day. I’m normal weight. Not skinny nor fat. My parents are both diabatic and so are my grandparents. I LOVE chocolate, ice cream, candy, cake, cookies, everything with CHOCOLATe and SUGAR.
On days, when i don’t eat chocolate/sugar, i feel really tired, weak, lazy, and have no energy what so ever! It feel like im gonna die if i don’t get the sugar soon. Once i eat sugar, I feel WAYYY better, im energetic, and not tired at all. The problem is I crave and eat sugar ALOT!(at least once a day)
Does this mean i’m diabetic? or am i gonna end up with it? =[

Got paid $100 to participate in a medical study and am self-employed. Is that $100 Schedule C income?
A research center was testing a diabetes screening machine. They paid people $100 to come in three times for blood work and screening. I was one of the subjects. I file Schedule C for my consulting business. Does this count as another $100 of Schedule C income that requires self-employment tax, or is it misc. income, like jury duty, that does not go on Schedule C.
If it doesn’t go on Schedule C, can I deduct mileage?
Thanks,
Houyhnhnm
The question is whether or not you intended to make a profit as a guinea pig and how much you want to fight the IRS over this.
You either list it on line 21 (no deductions except on schedule A 2% section) or you list it on a separate schedule C from your business.
For $100, I’d argue line 21. Egg donors, on the other hand, can make several thousand and generally only do it for the money to support themselves.

My partner, John, is 72 years old and suffers from Type 2 diabetes and heart failure caused by an enlarged heart – the ejection rate was 17% at the time of his crisis a year ago but has improved to 40%+. He needs a hip replacement (second time), a knee replacement and an ankle replacement. His bones are eroding and he has been told that the muscle might come away from the hip if he doesn’t have a replacement soon, but the surgeon is reluctant to operate because of his heart problem and says that he will see him in a year’s time. If the muscle comes away John will be left with a permanent limp, but I am more worried about the pain and how he will get around. John is not into denial but is certainly into avoidance. He wants to travel overseas (saying that countries such as the UK and Italy have repicrocal health arrangements), even though he can’t get medical health travel insurance. He still rides his bike and gets up on a ladder to cut the hedge. I am concerned but how to help?
This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself.
