My father recently passed, this was a purchase, not a rental or insurance item. As we deal with the estate/belongings, Imy sister and I scratch our heads over what to do with this; I believe my father spent over ,000 for this- it has a carry case, battery, a little trolley, etc. Am I able to sell this, as a friend has told me a Rx is needed by any potential buyer. I’m in the dark, we’d like to sell it for what its worth, even less, whatever, but dont know, again, what we’re able to do with this (legally, I’d guess) or what our options are
i wouldnt want to list it in the classifieds or eBay if thats a no no. Any input appreciated
I am looking to go away on holiday and need a portable concentrator for travel and whilst i am there they are very expensive to buy and was wondering if anyone knows where i could maybe hire one.

My father is worrying me. He normally has it set at 2 but lately has been running it at 6. When he tries to back it down, he feels short of breath and has to crank it back up. Is this bad for him to increase his intake this much? Should I be worried?
If it helps, he has emphasema (sp?) and needs the oxygen 24 hrs to breathe (and can you believe he still smokes? It kills me). I don’t know if the oxygen intake is like a prescription and he is overdosing or something….
My dr just put me on oxygen therapy at night because my oxygen saturation levels were dropping to about 82% at night (according to a sleep study). They brought the concentrator out Monday and I’m supposed to sleep with it on…..but, I can’t sleep with it on. The last 2 nights I have lain there awake for 2 hours and finally had to turn it off so I could get any sleep at all. It kind of makes me feel funny….maybe it’s just anxiety but it feels like my heart is doing flip flops/palpitations in my chest. I can doze off for a second and then awake in a panic with my heart racing.
Plus, it’s loud but I can’t put it in the hall because we have dogs and cats in & out & I’m afraid one of them would chew up the tubing. And, I don’t like anything on my face.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any possible negative side effects to using oxygen? I think I’m only on 2 lpm, that’s not much is it? I think I’m just nervous about it…..can anyone put my mind at ease? Thanks.
