Does a child born in an untreated case of Gestational Diabetes have an increased chance of developing diabetes
If you know the mom had gestational diabetes that was untreated, should the child be getting tested for diabetes in juvenile years? I know it does effect risk of obesity.
Gestational diabetes is not the same thing as juvenile diabetes. Gestational diabetes is more closely related to adult onset diabetes and is a precursor for it, but is not genetically linked to juvenile diabetes. There is a risk that the child will develop adult onset diabetes later in life because it is genetic. The child can decrease the risk of this by exercising an maintaining a healthy weight especially in adulthood.

is there any treatment for (insulin antybodies human) for a girl of 4 years old?
patient name :Maryam Hany . gender :female. age: 4years weight :13kg. Her father is a diabetic patient type 2. She has got a fever (about 3 weeks)at April 2006. Since May 2006 she has polyurea specially after meals. She has never comas and the maximum result of glucose test is 350 mgdl. We discovered the hyperglycemia at 3 Nov.2006. She has never the symptoms of the hypoglycemia even when the result of blood glucose test is 34. C-peptide (fasting) 1.7ng/ml {reference range: 0.9—–4} at 05/11/2006. Glycosylated Haemoglobin 7.3 %{ref. range: 4.2—-6.2} at 05/11/2006. Insulin Abs.(Human) (BS) 4 u/ml {ref range:<1.0} at 12/11/2006. Anti Islet Cells Antibodies negative at 12/11/2006. Glycosylated Haemoglobin 6.6%{ref. range:4.2-----6.2}at 14/04/2007. Average last 3 months glucose 120-150 . We give her the insulin since 3Nov. with very little doses (1unit insulatard every 12hrs and 1---2 units of Novorapide every day)
There is not any reason to test antibody levels unless part of research study since they do not provide any help at all in treatment questions for your child.
Similarly, testing antibodies for siblings or parents is useful if involved with a controlled scientific study but not much help for the individual. It can be done but usually insurance companies do not pay for such research. If you wanted to pay the cost of antibody testing for any first degree relatives, some diabetologists suggest islet cell antibodies, insulin and GAD 65 antibodies be tested.
Nobody knows how often such tests should be done, when they should be repeated or really what their predictive value is outside of a large study. However, if they are highly positive or more than one are positive, the risks for future diabetes development are high. If they are negative, this does not guarantee that they will stay negative forever. It would be reasonable for you to have such discussions with your diabetes team and follow their advice from a common-sense perspective since there is no known prevention or intervention at the moment that is safe. Lots of research labs working around the world on such problems but not there yet.
Can T2DM Increase Risk for Early Dementia? Does a Diabetic Coma Cause Post Stroke Symptoms?
OK, so I am on this site where other women support each other and one of my blog buddies says she is well over 300 lbs and is diabetic….we are all trying to lose weight…but she says things like, “Today was a good day…I ate well and kept my portions under control” but then when she lists her food, she says stuff like breakfast today was 3 dounuts,or we went to McDonalds and I had 2 bacon/egg buscuits,I had a sandwhich at Wendy’s but only ate 1/4 of the fries,I drank some Root Beer.” I mean, me lecturing her would feel like the pot calling the kettle black, but again, we are there to support each other and it seems like most people just cheer her on…and I am thinking, “Are you kidding? You are not even trying!” But she thinks she is trying…and she is really sweet….and her exercise consists of walking for 10 minutes, to the mailbox…she also complains of several aliments, like migraines, allergies, pulled tendon in the right knee, planter fascitis in her feet….
Suggest to her, in the most polite way possible, that while you’re proud of her for cutting back and not overeating, that possibly, all that sugar and fat might be slowing her progress down. Don’t make her feel ashamed, just make her realize that, uh-oh, she better cut back or she might get set back further!
Good luck, honey. And stay strong with the site! <33

I read online that home tests test for morphine which is hydromorphone but dont test for vicodin which is hydrocodone. I also read in some places that some of the hydrocodone ingested breaks down into hydromorphone which will then test positive. I use 5 panel tests specifically reditest panel dips and im wondering if they even detect vicodin because some information says the standard drug test wont test for it and some says that it will. Its really confusing me please help! Thanks.
First off, I think you were misinformed about morphine being hydromorphone. Hydromorphone is also known as “Dilaudid.” It is an opioid but is not morphine. I am certain that the drug test you are talking about will detect hydromorphone (created in your body from the hydrocodone.) Do not take vicodin unless you want to fail your drug test.
