Air is composed of various gases in our atmosphere.
Nitrogen N2 78.084 %
Oxygen O2 20.9476 %
Argon Ar 0.934 %
Carbon Dioxide CO2 0.0314 %
Neon Ne 0.001818 %
Methane CH4 0.0002 %
Helium He 0.000524 %
Krypton Kr 0.000114 %
Hydrogen H2 0.00005 %
Xenon Xe 0.0000087 %
The most common and cheapest way to extract oxygen is to pass air through something that will take out everything BUT the oxygen. Thankfully we have a material called zeolite that does just that. When air is passed through the zeolite the nitrogen and other gases are bound to the zeolite and lets the oxygen pass through. This is then pushed into a storage tank. The zeolite is then placed in a vaccum to remove the nitrogen and other gases and then more oxygen comes in. You can generate oxygen also from the electroylsis of water, but thats not as common.
